You start planning on your Android phone, then reach for your Mac to do the work. Repeating the whole conversation breaks that flow. OGAM (Off Grid AI Mobile) and OGAD (Off Grid AI Desktop) keep the chat available on both devices, so you can open it on the Mac and continue with a keyboard.
After you pair them, chat updates sync automatically over your local network. You do not need a cloud sync service or an internet connection for that local handoff. Install the apps, activate Pro and prepare your local models before going offline. Keep both apps open during your first transfer.

“Without internet” still means a working connection between your devices. Your Wi-Fi router can carry local traffic when its internet connection is down. Turning off Wi-Fi on the phone removes that route.
What do you need to sync Android and Mac chats?
Use OGAM with Pro access on Android and OGAD with Pro access on a supported Mac. Install updates and complete licence setup while you have internet access. Download a local text model on each device if you want each one to generate replies by itself.
These steps use the sync controls in OGAM 0.0.111 and OGAD 0.0.51. Phone-to-Mac chat and project sync was introduced in the mobile device-sync release. Use current versions on both devices, rather than pairing a new phone app with an old desktop build.

Chat sync and model transfer are separate. Receiving a conversation does not automatically download or load the model that answered it.
How do you pair the Android phone with your Mac?
Open Devices in OGAD and Settings → Sync in OGAM. Make the Mac discoverable, then scan its pairing QR code with the phone. The code establishes the device connection; it is not a cloud login.
- Connect your Android phone and Mac to the same home or office network.
- In OGAD, select Devices in the sidebar. If its status is Hidden, use that control to make it discoverable. Leave Find nearby devices on.
- Select Show QR Code on the Mac.
- In OGAM, open Settings → Sync. The Home screen also has Set up Sync or Sync devices, depending on whether you have already paired a device.
- Tap the camera control labelled Scan pairing QR code. Allow camera access if you choose this method, then scan the QR code on the Mac.
- Follow any pairing or device-access message. Wait until the Mac is listed as connected on the phone and the phone is connected in OGAD.
You can also pair without the camera. Select the Mac from the available devices in OGAM, enter the pairing code shown by OGAD, and select Pair.
If the Mac is not listed, open the phone’s Device settings from the gear beside its device name. Check Discoverable and Find nearby devices, then use Rescan on the Sync screen.
How do you continue the same conversation on the Mac?
After pairing, chat data syncs as part of the shared workspace. You do not need to export each conversation or enable a separate Chats switch. Use a short test conversation before you depend on the connection for a long project.
- On Android, start a chat with a downloaded local text model.
- Send a harmless test prompt, such as: “Help me plan a three-day garden project. Call it Cedar.”
- Let the reply finish. Keep OGAM open.
- In OGAD, open Chat and find that conversation in the chat list. Check that the prompt and reply are present.
- Select a local text model on the Mac if needed. Continue with: “Turn that plan into a short checklist.”
- Return to Chats in OGAM, open the same conversation, and check that the new exchange has arrived.
This checks both directions. For the first test, finish a reply on one device before sending the next message from the other. It makes a missing message easier to spot.
Take a workday summary with you
You can also use a synced chat to carry a copy of your Mac’s workday summary onto Android. This starts with a manual copy from Day in OGAD. Later changes to the Day summary do not update that copied text.
- On the Mac, open Day, select the day you want, and read its Journal summary. This needs Pro and activity you chose to capture and process. Check the summary before you use it.
- Select the summary’s text with the pointer and copy it with Command-C. Day has no dedicated Copy or Export button for this summary.
- Open a chat with a downloaded local model. Paste the text below a dated instruction, for example: “Workday summary for 29 September. Turn these notes into three priorities for tomorrow. Use only the notes below.” Remove details you do not want in the shared workspace, then send.
- With both apps open and connected, open that chat in OGAM. Check that the pasted summary and reply have arrived before you leave the local network.
You now have the copied summary in the conversation on your phone. You can read that received text without keeping the Mac connected. A new offline AI reply on the phone needs its own downloaded local chat model.
The copy becomes ordinary chat content. Paired devices share chats and projects as described below; this is not a way to share only one summary while excluding your other chats. Day itself stays a separate Mac view, and refreshing its summary does not replace the message you already sent.
Which information do you agree to share when you pair?
Chats and projects are part of the required shared workspace in the current sync flow. Pair devices that you want to hold that data. The Sharing screen controls optional data; it is not a way to select only one private conversation for sync.
In OGAM, open Sync → Sharing to review optional sending and receiving. You do not have to enable whole-device screenshot or download-folder sharing to sync a chat.
Files attached to conversations can take longer than their text. If a file is still arriving, let its transfer finish before you use it in the next question. A visible conversation does not prove that every attachment is ready. The shared-chat release notes describe transfer progress within chats.
How do you check that chat sync works without internet?
Keep local Wi-Fi on and test with your router’s internet connection unavailable. Turn off mobile data on the Android phone for this test. Leave both apps open and send another short message in the same chat.
Check that the message reaches the Mac, then send a reply back. Choose local models on both devices. A cloud model, web search, or connected online service can still need internet even when the chat itself syncs locally.
Do this when disconnecting the router’s internet connection will not interrupt anyone else’s work. You can also use a local network that already has no internet access.
What should you check if a chat does not arrive?

Android does not use the nearby Apple-device sync route. Keep the local network available for this Android-to-Mac setup.
Will sync keep working when you leave home?
Only while the devices have a usable route to one another. This local-network setup does not make your home Mac reachable from anywhere. A private remote-network setup is a separate task and needs its own connectivity.
