You have a useful AI conversation on your Android phone, but the next step needs a keyboard and a larger screen. OGAM (Off Grid AI Mobile) and OGAD (Off Grid AI Desktop) let you open the same chat on your Windows PC and continue with its earlier messages in place.
After pairing, new chat updates move automatically over your local network. The handoff does not use a cloud sync service or need internet after setup. Activate Pro and prepare local models first, then keep both apps open for your first transfer.

This guide syncs conversations created in these apps. It does not import your history from a different AI service.
What do you need before you start?
Install OGAM on Android and the Windows build of OGAD, then complete Pro activation on the participating devices. Download the local models you want to use while internet is available. The procedure below uses OGAM 0.0.111 and the Windows 0.0.51 release of OGAD.
Windows device sync uses your local network. It does not use the nearby Apple-device connection route.

The PC can use Ethernet while the phone uses Wi-Fi, provided both connections reach the same local network. Guest-network isolation can prevent that communication even when both devices can browse the internet.
How do you pair Android with Windows?
Display the PC’s pairing code in Devices, then scan it from Sync on the phone. Pairing gives the apps a trusted connection. Wait for connected status before you test a conversation.
- Open OGAD on the PC and select Devices in the sidebar.
- Check its discoverability status. If it says Hidden, select that control to make it discoverable. Keep Find nearby devices enabled.
- Select Show QR Code.
- On Android, open OGAM and go to Settings → Sync. The Home screen also offers Set up Sync or Sync devices.
- Tap the camera control labelled Scan pairing QR code. Allow camera access if prompted, then scan the PC’s code.
- Follow the displayed pairing or device-access instructions. Check that the phone and PC show each other as connected.
To use a typed code instead, select the PC from the available devices on the phone. Enter the code displayed by OGAD and select Pair.
If discovery is disabled on Android, tap the gear beside the phone’s name in Sync. Enable Discoverable and Find nearby devices, then return and tap Rescan.
What happens automatically after pairing?
New conversation and message updates are sent through the sync connection without a separate export or send action. Chats and projects are part of the required shared workspace. The Sharing controls apply to optional data; they do not provide a switch to share only one selected chat.
Pair devices that you trust with your conversation history. You do not need to enable screenshot or download-folder sharing to keep a text chat in sync.
Automatic transfer does not mean the AI answers by itself. You still choose a conversation, send your next question, and use an available model for the reply.
How do you check the conversation in both directions?
Use a short, harmless chat so you can easily spot the new messages. Start on Android, continue on Windows, then check the phone again.
- With a local text model selected in OGAM, ask: “Make a packing checklist for a two-day camping trip.”
- Let the reply finish and keep OGAM open.
- In OGAD, open Chat and find the same conversation in the chat list.
- Check that both your prompt and the answer are present.
- Select a local text model on the PC if needed. Ask: “Add a separate food checklist.”
- On Android, open Chats, select the same conversation, and check for the new exchange.
A synced chat does not install its original model on the receiving device. You can use a suitable local model on each device; different models can produce different answers.
Attachments may also arrive after the text. Wait for a file to finish transferring before you ask a question that depends on it. Shared chats display in-progress file transfers, as described in the mobile shared-chat release notes.
How can you test it without internet?
Keep the phone connected to local Wi-Fi and the PC connected to that same network. Turn off mobile data on Android. Use a local network whose internet connection is unavailable, then send another short message and check that it arrives on the PC.
Do not turn off the phone’s Wi-Fi for this test. The local connection is what carries the chat. Use local models for replies, and avoid prompts that require web search or another online service.
Initial app downloads, model downloads and licence setup are separate from this local data-transfer test. Complete them first.
Why is the Windows PC not connecting?
Start with device status, then check the network and firewall. A saved pairing does not mean the other device is currently awake or reachable.

On Windows, open Windows Security → Firewall & network protection → Allow an app through firewall and review OGAD’s access for your trusted network. Use an app-specific exception; you do not need to turn the firewall off. Microsoft’s firewall guidance explains these controls.
