You already know what needs to happen and when. OGAD (Off Grid AI Desktop) can turn that sentence into a real reminder in your Mac’s Reminders app. With a local text model, the request is processed on your Mac instead of going to a cloud AI model.

This uses the native Mac tools in the core app. You do not need the Pro Computer Use flow just to create this reminder. The Reminders account you choose may still sync through iCloud or another service.
Create one reminder from chat
- In Models > Text, download and select a local model suitable for tool calls.
- Open a chat. In its options, make sure Tools is on.
- Ask for a specific item. For example:
Create a reminder called Send the reviewed mockups, due on 8 October 2026 at 16:00 Asia/Kolkata. Add the note: Check the final filenames before sending.
- Allow the requested macOS Reminders access if this is the first use.
- Open Reminders and check the new item’s title, list, due date, and time.
Use your own date and timezone. An explicit create request can run directly from chat; do not assume there will be a second confirmation screen. If you only want suggested wording, ask for a draft in chat and say not to create anything yet.
Include the details that affect the result
Give a short title, an exact due date when needed, and useful notes. The native create tool supports a title, notes, and a due time. It does not expose every Reminders option, so add repeat rules or other details in the Reminders app when needed.
After creating the item, you can ask OGAD to list your incomplete reminders. Check the new item there and in the app. A reminder records an intention; it does not perform the work or send the file for you.
Give the reminder enough context to help later
A reminder titled “Follow up” makes you reconstruct the task when it appears. Name the action and the object instead: “Send the reviewed mockups.” Use the note for the detail that makes completion clear.
For example:
Create a reminder called Check the workshop room booking, due on 8 October 2026 at 10:00 Asia/Kolkata. Add this note: Confirm the room name and capacity against the booking email before replying.
The reminder records the next action. It does not read the booking email, confirm the room, or send a reply as a side effect.
You can also ask for a reminder without a due date when it is simply a task to keep in view. Add a date when it is genuinely useful, rather than attaching an arbitrary deadline to every idea.
Choose between a task and a calendar block
Use a reminder for an action you need to complete. Use Calendar when you want to reserve a particular span of time. “Check the proposal” can be a reminder; “Review proposal from 14:00 to 14:30” is a calendar block.
The reminder creation tool saves into the Mac’s default Reminders list. It does not expose a list-selection field in this release. If the item belongs in another list, move it in Reminders and check the result there.
Repeat rules, subtasks, and other advanced fields also need the app’s own controls where the tool does not support them. Asking for extra fields does not add them to the native tool. Start with the supported title, notes, and due time, then finish the details in Reminders.
Check that the saved task matches the intention
After the create request, open the item. Compare the title and note with what you asked for, and check the due date rather than assuming a phrase such as “next Friday” was interpreted correctly.
If you ask OGAD to list incomplete reminders, use that result to find the item, not to prove every detail is correct. The list is a useful overview; the native app is where you can inspect and adjust the full reminder.
For a short work plan, add one clear task first. Once it is correct, create the next one. This keeps the conversation useful without leaving you with several near-duplicate or vaguely worded reminders.
Keep this separate from automatic work-history tasks
This guide creates an item in Apple’s Reminders app after your explicit chat request. OGAD’s Pro Actions > To do is a separate list that can receive commitments inferred from captured work. Do not assume that creating a Reminders item also creates or completes an Actions task.
Choose the destination you will actually review. If Reminders is already your daily task list, the native tool lets you put a clear next action there without retyping it into the app.
What if nothing appears?
Check the tool result before repeating the request. If permission was denied, allow access in macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security, then retry the request. If a model only suggests text, check Tools and try a local model that supports tool calls.
Look in the target app before resending an uncertain request, to avoid duplicate items. If the list is shared or synced, changes follow that account’s sharing rules.
Try OGAD with one reminder you actually need. State the details, check the result in Reminders, and keep the rest of your planning in the same local conversation.
