Your second phone should not need the same download again.
OGAM (Off Grid AI Mobile) lets you send a compatible installed AI model from one phone to another over a local network. After the receiving phone verifies and installs it, that phone can run the model on its own. This works with supported packages on Android and iPhone.
Install the apps and activate Pro before going offline. The phones still need a connection to each other, such as the same local Wi-Fi network. “Without internet” does not mean turning off every network connection.

Why copy a model to a second phone?
You might be moving to a new phone, preparing a spare for travel, or keeping a compact writing assistant on both Android and iPhone. A local transfer reuses the file you already downloaded. Once it is installed, each phone can answer its own requests without the other phone nearby.
Start with a small text model. It gives you a simple first result: send the file, select it on the second phone, and use it to rewrite a note while offline.
Model transfer moves the model package. Chat and project sync is a separate part of the paired workspace; transferring a model does not copy every device setting.
Can you send a model from Android to iPhone?
Yes, compatible GGUF text models can cross between Android and iPhone. A model still has to fit the receiving phone’s memory and be supported by its runtime. Image-generation packages have stricter platform limits, so the same model name does not establish that the files are interchangeable.

Do not assume that text-to-speech models or every mobile AI package can be sent. Use the installed models shown for the receiving device.
The mobile image-transfer release introduced sending image-generation models between phones. The current guide uses OGAM 0.0.111; the supported package and receiving platform still determine what you can send.
How do you pair the phones?
Use OGAM with Pro access on both phones. Connect them to the same local network and keep both apps open. You can show the pairing code on either phone; the steps below show it on the phone that already has the model.
- Open Settings → Sync on both phones.
- Use the gear beside each device’s name to check Discoverable and Find nearby devices.
- On the sending phone, use Show pairing QR code.
- On the receiving phone, use Scan pairing QR code and scan that code.
- Complete the displayed pairing steps, then wait for connected status on both phones.
You can also select the discovered phone, enter its pairing code and select Pair. If discovery fails, use Rescan. On iPhone, check that OGAM has Local Network permission.
Pair only your trusted devices. Chats and projects also belong to the required shared workspace after pairing.
How do you send and use the model?
On the phone with the installed model, open Sync and use the upload icon beside the receiving device. Its label is Send a model to [device name]. Choose the model, then select Send model. OGAM checks the received files before adding the package to Models.
- Choose a small installed text model for the first transfer.
- Confirm that the destination is your second phone.
- Start the transfer and leave both apps open. Follow any receiving prompt.
- Use Activity from the model-transfer panel if you need to inspect progress.
- Wait for verification and installation to finish.
- Open Models on the receiving phone and select the local model for a chat.
- Ask: “Rewrite this note as a clear message: train delayed, arriving after dinner, please keep a plate.”
That last step confirms something more useful than a completed file transfer: the receiving phone can run the model for the task you want.
Image packages can need extra temporary storage while the sender prepares them and the receiver installs them. Leave spare storage rather than filling the phone up to the displayed model size.
Does the first phone need to stay connected afterward?
No. Once the second phone has the complete installed model, it can run that model independently. Disconnect from the shared network, turn off mobile data, and try another short text request with the local model selected.
Future chat sync needs a connection between the phones. The local reply itself does not. Cloud models, web search and other online services are separate choices and can still need internet.
What should you check if the transfer fails?

Phone operating systems can suspend background work. Keep OGAM open until your first transfer finishes. There is no need to assume a transfer speed: the model size, connection and device storage all affect the wait.
Give your second phone its own offline assistant
Install OGAM on Android or iPhone, pair your phones and send one compatible text model. Turn off internet access after installation and rewrite a note on the receiving phone. You have reused the download and made the second phone ready to work by itself.
