OGAM (Off Grid AI Mobile) lets you attach a screenshot and ask a local vision model about it on your iPhone. You can turn visible details into a clear explanation or a short checklist without sending the image to a cloud AI service. Download the app and model first; the local conversation can then work without internet.

What can you ask about a screenshot?
Take a screenshot of a long travel itinerary. Instead of typing everything out, attach the screenshot and ask for the part you need. A vision model can read visible content and reason about it, though you still need to check exact words and numbers.

The screenshot is a still image. OGAM cannot see the rest of the app or press its buttons through this question. Give it another image when the missing screen matters.
Which model do you need?
Choose a vision model in Models. A text-only model cannot inspect screenshot pixels, and an image-generation model serves a different task. OGAM’s model catalog includes small vision options such as SmolVLM2 500M and larger SmolVLM variants; use the option that fits your phone’s available memory.
Download the full model, including its vision support file when required. A partly installed model may answer text questions while failing on images. Local vision chat is in the free mobile feature set; Pro device sync is not required for this one-phone workflow.
The published iPhone baseline is iPhone 12 or newer on iOS 17 or later. That baseline does not mean every vision model fits every supported iPhone.
Get your first useful answer
Start with one clear screenshot and one specific question. A tight crop of the relevant area is easier to read than an entire long page with tiny text.
- Save the screenshot locally on your iPhone. Crop it in your photo app if the useful text is small.
- Open OGAM and select a downloaded local vision model for a chat.
- Use the attachment control and choose Photo, then Photo Library.
- Select the screenshot and check that its preview appears in the message.
- Ask: “Read the important text in this screenshot. Then explain what I need to know. Mark unreadable parts instead of guessing.”
- Compare the answer with the original image before using dates, prices, addresses or other exact details.
Allow access to the photo you want to use if iOS asks. If it is stored only in iCloud, make it available on the phone before your offline session.
You can then ask a focused follow-up: “Which of those steps can I do first?” or “Rewrite that explanation for someone who has never used this app.” Keep the original image available for checks.
Make small text easier to read
A screenshot full of tiny text is a poor starting point. OGAM’s photo picker reduces large images for model input, so a full-page screenshot can lose useful detail. Crop the section that contains your question and attach that crop.
For a long itinerary, use one section at a time. For an error message, include the error and enough surrounding context to identify the app state. Ask for exact transcription before asking for an explanation; that makes a reading error easier to spot.
A confident answer is not proof that the model read every character correctly. If an amount or name looks wrong, enlarge the source and check it yourself.
Keep the task local
After the download, use a local model and a screenshot already stored on the phone. Turn off internet access and ask a short question to confirm your setup. Do not select a remote model or request web search for this offline check.
This avoids a cloud AI upload for the analysis. Separate photo-backup or device-sync settings can still move files if you have enabled them elsewhere.
