Choose the job of the illustration
A useful slide image supports one idea. For a section about reducing distractions, show a calm workspace. For a planning workshop, show a simple arrangement of notes and tools. For a future concept, show the setting you want the audience to imagine.
Keep real numbers, diagrams and product controls in editable presentation elements or verified screenshots. An image model can produce convincing-looking labels that are wrong. Use local generation for the illustration, then add exact information in the slide tool.
Write a brief for the space on the slide
Decide where the image goes before generating it. A full-background image needs empty space for text. An illustration beside bullet points needs a clear subject that remains visible at a smaller size.
For a slide about focused work:
A simple editorial illustration of a quiet desk with a closed laptop, one notebook and a pencil. Muted blue and warm cream palette, clear subject on the right, open uncluttered space on the left, no text, no logos.
For a section divider about planning:
A top-down illustration of three blank index cards, a pencil and a small plant on a pale background. Simple shapes, soft shadows, restrained green palette, generous empty space, no lettering.
Describe the actual scene rather than asking for an abstract business quality. It gives you a result you can judge against the slide’s purpose.
Make the first slide illustration
- In OGAD, open Models and choose a supported local image-generation model that fits your computer’s memory.
- Download the complete model and select it.
- Open Chat, then + → Generate image.
- Send your visual brief. Use the selected model’s defaults for the first draft.
- Open a useful result and select Download.
- Place it in your slide tool, crop it to the layout, and add the headline as editable text.
Local image generation is part of OGAD’s free desktop app. The image is a raster asset you can place on a slide; this workflow does not create an editable presentation or separate every object into layers.
Do not assume the generated aspect ratio already matches your deck. Check the crop in the actual slide layout and keep important objects away from the edges you may trim.
Keep a small deck visually consistent
Reuse the same model, palette and treatment across your briefs. Change the subject to match each section. For example, keep “simple editorial illustration, muted blue and warm cream, soft shadows” while moving from a desk scene to planning cards.
Generate the images one at a time and review them together. Similar prompts help establish a direction, but exact character and object consistency is not guaranteed. Choose the images that look like they belong in the same deck.
If an image is busy, simplify the brief before adding more steps or increasing size. Removing two unnecessary objects may do more for a slide than generating a higher-resolution version of the same clutter.
Review at presentation size
Put the image beside its actual headline and view the slide full screen. Can the subject be understood quickly? Does the text have enough contrast? Does any invented detail distract from the point?
Check repeated objects, hands, lettering and accidental symbols. Keep exact claims outside the generated picture so you can edit them as the presentation changes. For a data slide, generate a supporting scene only if it helps; build the chart from the real numbers.
Prepare offline before the meeting
Once the local model is downloaded, you can make illustrations without a cloud generation service. Save the source images and the presentation locally before traveling. Leave optional prompt enhancement off for the first offline generation check to avoid a second model dependency.
